Even though I hate to admit it, my boys are no longer really “babies” anymore. They walk/run to places, they explore the world by using their bodies, knowledge, and memories.
Also, my boys do not use their cribs anymore. We got a custom foam mattress made to fit in their room floor and they sleep on it together. (mommy and daddy join them later at night too)
So their room does not have to be a typical ‘baby nursery’ any more. We used to have a rocking chair in it but they would just climb on it so we removed it from the room.
Since they are in toddler stage, I have been thinking about converting their room which has cribs, mattress and a dresser into more of a toddler play room / bedroom.
Somewhere they can sleep, somewhere they can read, somewhere they can play and put away their toys, somewhere they can relax, somewhere they can learn.
I have put together my inspiration of what I want their toddler boy room to look like below!
- District 3 Cube Storage Frame
- Wander Wonder World Banner
- Wrightwood Bunk Bed
- Variegated Grey Pouf
- Wrightwood Toy Box
- Medium Adjustable Activity Table
Isn’t all the furniture above just lovely? I love how calming the colour is. When the boys were little babies, I wanted everything pastel and soft, but at the toddler boy age, it’s fun to add more stylish designs! Personally, I love the grey wood bunk bed. I am not sure how my boys will do in a bunk bed though, since they are used to sleeping on the same mattress but it is ideal because it saves space!
I haven’t decided if I want to keep their room as just a room to sleep (no distractions) and make another room as a ‘playroom’, or design a play-space right into their room. My husband already has supplies set up to make a rock climbing wall in our home gym for the boys, which I am super excited about. I will make sure to share the progress once he has time to tackle that task!
Thank you so much for reading!
